This is a great little book for both young and older readers. It has ready to be cut paper dolls of eight great actresses in 38 authentic film costumes, printed in full color on heavy stock. The eight actresses are; Great Garbo, Jean Harlow, Judy Garland, Joan Crawford, Carole Lombard, Jeanette MacDonald, Constance Bennett and Nancy Carroll. These ladies look absolutely gorgeous, and the allure of beauty is appropriately accessorized by some the greatest costumes we have seen in films of 1930s. For example, the beautiful evening gowns worn by Jean Harlow in "Suzy," "Dinner at Eight," and China Seas look simply marvelous. The dress worn by Joan Crawford in the 1939 classic movie "The Women," the dress of Greta Garbo in "Camille," and Judy Garland's dress of the movie "Love finds Andy Hardy" are adorable. My personal favorites are the gorgeous dress worn by Jeanette MacDonald in the movie "San Francisco" and "Naughty Marietta" is just wonderful.
These film costumes were designed by some of the famous designers of 1930s Hollywood that included; Adrian, Travis Banton, Robert Kalloch, Gwen Wakeling, Dolly Tree, Sam Lange and Murray Mayer. I think this book will be well liked by young children and also the students of fashion design as this provides a beautiful visual history of Hollywood's greatest years.
